Inventory Bulk Actions

Introduction

Bulk actions let you run Detection and BOM creation across exactly the projects and repositories you choose, instead of one item at a time. You select the specific items you care about and act on just those, so a Detection scan or a round of BOM creation can be scoped as narrowly or as broadly as you need. Bulk actions are available on both tabs of the Detect AI page, accessible from the Detect AI section in the left navigation.

Scoping a Scan to Selected Items

Both tables support multi-select. On the VCS Projects/Orgs/Groups tab you select projects, organizations, and groups. On the Repositories tab you select individual repositories. Selecting one or more rows enables the bulk-action controls above the table. This is how you target a scan at a chosen set rather than running it across everything.

Detect AI in Selected

Detect AI in Selected runs Detection on the items you have selected. It is available on both tabs. Use it to scan a specific group of projects or repositories for AI without waiting on, or triggering, a scan of your entire organization.

Rediscover Repos in Selected

Rediscover Repos in Selected re-runs Discovery on the selected projects, organizations, and groups to refresh their projects and repositories. It is available on the VCS Projects/Orgs/Groups tab. Use it when the contents of a group have changed and you want current Discovery results before running Detection.

Create BOMs for Selected

Create BOMs for Selected generates BOMs for the items you have selected, so you can move from Discovery through Detection to BOM creation without handling repositories one at a time. It is available on both tabs.

When your selection includes a mix of repositories, this action creates BOMs only for the repositories where AI was detected. Repositories without detected AI are skipped.

Creating a BOM for a single repository runs immediately with no confirmation. Choosing to create BOMs for multiple repositories opens a confirmation modal before the scan runs.

There is no bulk status tracking on the job. BOMs from bulk creation appear in the BOM table as their individual scans complete.

Running Actions Across Everything

The Detect AI Everywhere split-button runs an action across every repository rather than a selected set. This is a large job. When you want to scope work to specific items, use the multi-select actions above instead.

The main button runs Detect AI across all repositories. The dropdown offers three options:

  • Detect AI Everywhere runs Detection across all repositories.
  • Discover Projects/Repos runs Discovery across all integrations.
  • Bulk Create BOMs creates BOMs across all repositories where AI was detected.

The Detect AI Everywhere split-button is available on both tabs.
